The RTC is using a standard four-digit identification number for all of its buses, just like in most of the transit agencies. Le RTC offre également un service de transport adapté pour les gens à mobilité réduite. Le service est connu sous le nom Service de Transport Adapté de la Capitale (STAC). Ce service est opéré sous contrat par [[Autobus Auger]], une compagnie locale.

Le Réseau de Transport de la Capitale (RTC) offre un service de transport en commun aux habitants de la ville de Québec, Québec. Il a pris en charge le transport en commun dans la ville de Québec auprès de la Société de Transport de la Communauté Urbaine de Québec le 1er Juin 2002. Le RTC opère 109 lignes de bus avec une flotte de 588 autobus.

Histoire

Le Réseau de Transport de la Capitale, anciennement connu sous le nom de Société de Transport de la Communauté Urbaine de Québec (STCUQ), a pris en charge le transport en commun dans la ville de Québec en juin 2002. Le changement est entré en vigueur afin de refléter la fusion des villes en 2001-2002. La STCUQ était en opération depuis janvier 1994 et a remplacé la Commission de Transport de la Communauté Urbaine de Québec (CTCUQ), qui était en opération depuis 1969. Le nom officiel de l'actuel RTC est en fait la Société de Transport de Québec (STQ), mais ce nom est utilisé uniquement sur des documents officiels ou des registres.

Circuits et Services

En août 2008, le RTC a lancé quatre nouveaux logos pour représenter les différents services offerts. Ces logos se retrouvent sur les horaires imprimés, les horaires, la publicité, la carte du réseau et sur ​​quelques arrêts de bus .

Description du service

http://i.imgur.com/obb2h.png Metrobus (Circuits 800 à 803): Le mot "Metrobus" est une combinaison du mot "métro" et "bus". «Métro» est une abréviation du mot "Métropolitain", ce qui signifie donc que les Métrobus fournissent le service dans les parties les plus importantes de la ville avec une fréquence élevée, tout comme un système de métro le ferait. Ils donnent accès à tous les pôles de la ville urbaine.

Les lignes 800 et 801 desservent les principaux terminus du RTC, les zones commerciales, les bureaux du gouvernement ainsi que tous les autres boulevards importants, de Beauport et de Charlesbourg. Ils partagent la même trajectoire pour environ 40% de leur longueur totale. Sur la partie commune des routes, le service est d'une fréquence de 3-5 minutes pendant les heures de pointe et 6-10 aux autres moments. Bien que dans l'autre partie des circuits (Beauport et de Charlesbourg), le service a une fréquence 8-10 minutes aux heures de pointe et 15 minutes hors-pointe. Les Metrobus # 800 et # 801 transporteraient près de 40% des clients du RTC.

Le circuit 802 remplace l'ancienne ligne 12. Le but de convertir cette ligne en Metrobus était de rendre le circuit plus efficace. Les deux lignes ont le même trajet, à quelques différences près. La ligne 802 relie la station Belvédère au terminus Beauport.

Une autre ligne "Metrobus" en est toujours au stade de projet, soit la ligne 804.

Circuits 800 à 803

http://i.imgur.com/gcCb8.png leBus (Routes 1 à 185) : Les circuits leBus servent tous les secteurs de la ville de Québec. Ils établissent un lien entre les zones résidentielles et les activités commerciales à travers les rues locales et les boulevards. La plupart de ces lignes fonctionnent 7 jours par semaine pendant toute la journée à quelques excptions près (lignes 9, 22, 29, 33, 57, 59, 65, 70, 78, 85, 88, 94 & 95).

Le RTC a tendance à numéroter les routes par la zone qu'ils desservent:

  • Les circuits 1 à 29 opèrent dans les zones de Sainte-Foy - Sillery / La Cité / Limoilou;
  • Les circuits 30 à 39 opèrent dans la zone de Charlesbourg;
  • Les circuits 40 à 59 opèrent dans la zone du Terminus Beauport;
  • Les circuits 60, 64 et 65 opèrent dans la zone Lebourgneuf;
  • Les circuits 70 à 89 opèrent dans la zone Les Saules (sauf les circuits # 72 & # 89)
  • Les circuits 92, 93, 94 et 95 opèrent dans la zone de Champigny / Saint-Augustin.

Enfin, les circuits N ° 107, 111, 125, 133, 136 & 185 sont des lignes «accélérées» qui ne s'arrêtent pas à tous les arrêts auxquels ils sont confrontés. Le trajet est généralement similaire à leur équivalent du service régulier.

Circuits 1 à 185

http://i.imgur.com/9oC3j.png eXpress (Routes 214 à 391) : Les circuits eXpress sont un service offert en heure de pointe. Ils ont été créé spécialement pour les employés de bureau ou des étudiants qui vivent dans les différents secteurs de la ville de Québec, mais qui travaillent ou étudient dans le centre-ville ou à Sainte-Foy.

C'est pourquoi les circuits eXpress sont divisés en deux catégories, les 200 et les 300. Les lignes eXpress de la série 200 relient les zones résidentielles au centre-ville ainsi que la colline du Parlement le matin, elles font l'inverse l'après-midi. Les lignes eXpress de la série 300 relient les quartiers résidentiels à Sainte-Foy au lieu du centre-ville. La seule exception dans cette catégorie est le circuit 332 qui fait le contraire. Il conduit les passagers à Saint-Rodrigue le matin et les ramène à Sainte-Foy l'après-midi.

Un grand nombre des circuits eXpress dans la série 300 offrent des départs supplémentaires, en particulier à l'heure du diner et le soir pour accueillir les étudiants universitaires.

En règle générale, les lignes eXpress reflètent le numéro de leurs homologues leBus (par exemple les circuits 280 et 380 suivent pratiquement le même trajet que le circuit 80 dans les rues locales, mais il poursuivera son trajet sur l'autoroute vers le centre-ville ou à Sainte-Foy). Semblables aux lignes "leBus", quelques exceptions s'appliquent, comme la route 332 qui n'a aucun lien avec la ligne 32.

En 2008, les circuits eXpress du RTC auraient transportés plus de 10% de la clientèle.

Circuits 214 à 391

http://i.imgur.com/KZDR0.png Écolobus (Route 21) : L'"Écolobus" est un service d'autobus dans la partie historique de la ville de Québec (Vieux-Québec). Il est exploité par des minibus entièrement électriques.

Ce service était à l'origine gratuit, mais depuis le 5 juillet 2010, il en coûte 2$ suite à des plaintes des chauffeurs de taxi. L'abonnement mensuel, journalier, ainsi que les billets sont également acceptés.

Ces bus font souvent la manchette en raison de leur fiabilité douteuse et de leur mauvaise performance mécanique pendant la saison d'hiver.

The RTC is using a standard four-digit identification number for all of its buses, just like in most of the transit agencies. In most of the cases, the first two digits indicate the year of purchase (example: 0522 = 2005 or 9619 = 1996) while the last two digits represent the order of when they were manufactured (example: 9619 = 19th bus made in this serie).

However, there are some misleading fleet numbers such as the buses numbered 02xx that were built in 2003.

The particularity about the RTC, is that they use in some cases a letter in front of the four-digit identification number. The most common letter being used is "L", but other letters can randomly be applied.

Lettre Description
A(obsolète) This letter was attributed to Articulated buses. Only 2 buses ever received this letter, they were A9225 and A9226, because they were the only articulated buses in the RTC fleet, and that they were at the main depot with the regular buses. The new articulated buses that the RTC received since 2009, did not received the letter "A" because they are now based at a new garage specially built for these buses.
B(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the buses that had a Baultar driver seat on trial, back in 2006.

The letter "B" was also used in the fall of 2010, to identify a bus that had a wrap for Banque Laurentienne, as the letter "M" was not available, because it was identifying the regular 40ft buses that were based at the Metrobus garage.

C(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the buses that had a Passenger Counter. Nowadays, the buses are still equiped of passenger counters, but they aren't identify by any letter. The letter "C" was also used in January/February 2011 to identify the buses that had a wrap for the Carnaval de Québec, as the letter "M" was not available, because it was identifying the regular 40ft buses that were based at the Metrobus garage.
D(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the buses that had a wrap for Desjardins, back in 2009. These buses were running on Route #400, which is actually the Desjardins shuttle.
d(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the buses that had a wrap for Desjardins, back in 2010. These buses were running on Route #400, which is actually the Desjardins shuttle. In fact, the lowercase D's that were used, were actually the obsolete letter "P", that was rotated to look like a "d".
H This letter stood for Habituel (in french). This letter was attributed to "all-day" buses. The letter "H" is now identifying Hybrid bus #H1001, as the only Hybrid bus in the RTC fleet.
L This letter is attributed to Limited buses. Limited buses are mostly going out only for rush hours and special events. Though, a few Limited buses can be find during weekdays from 6am to 8pm, on random routes. A bus usually receive the letter "L" after 6 years of service. Though, sometimes some buses will be shortly running without this letter after a rebuilt, for example.
M This letter originally stood and still stands for Maquillé (in french). That means that a bus is "wrapped". The wrap is usually an advert.

Though, as of 2009 the letter "M" started to be used for Metrobus. That happened when regular 40ft buses started to be based at the Metrobus garage. As of 2011, every 40ft buses are back at the regular garage (except #M0934), so the letter "M" is being used for Maquillé, just like before.

P(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the buses that had a prototype of the electronic Perception. That was back in late 2007 and beginning of 2008, when some people had to test the OPUS cards.
R(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the buses that had a Recaro driver seat. That letter was mostly used with New-Look buses.
S(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the buses that had Ski racks. That was when they used to provide the Gray-Line services, back in the 1980's. Random buses were also seen recently with the letter "S", to identify a Side-wrap.
T(obsolète) This letter was attributed to the Tripper buses. That meant a bus that would run on specific runs for a short period of time. This was often happening with leased buses.
W This letter was attributed to the Wifi buses. This is a pilot project. Only 2 buses have been attributed this letter.

Transport Adapté

Le RTC offre également un service de transport adapté pour les gens à mobilité réduite. Le service est connu sous le nom Service de Transport Adapté de la Capitale (STAC). Ce service est opéré sous contrat par Autobus Auger, une compagnie locale.
