Mississauga Transit (MiWay) is the main provider of transportation to the residents of Mississauga, Ontario.

History

Mississauga Transit was founded in 1969 and was run by Charterways Limited under the name Mississauga Transit Systems. In late 1973, the city acquired the transporttation rights and formed Mississauga Transit combining transit systems in Mississauga, Port Credit and Streetsville. Service began on November 1st, 1973.

Mississauga Transit was rebranded in October 2010. As of October 4th, 2010 2 distinct branded were created;

  • MiLocal: Buses are branded with a Orange/White Livery.
    • As of 2010, All new local buses are branded with the new name and livery.
  • MiExpress: Buses are branded with a Blue/White Livery.
    • As of 2010, All new express buses are branded with the new name and livery.
