BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan was created in 1984 under the name CIT Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan. The first contract was awarded to [[Réseau de Transport de Longueuil|STRSM]] and mainted the contract until December 1991. The contract was later awarded to Autobus Viens, a private operator that was bought out by Veolia Transportation in 2004, which became [[Transdev Quebec]] in 2012.
BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan was formed in December of 1984, along with various other CIT Systems in order to have a focused local service. The service was formed under the name CIT Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan and contracted out to the [[Réseau de Transport de Longueuil|Société de Transport du Rive-Sud de Montréal]], who maintained the service until December of 1991.


Over the years, BLUS (at the time CIRCRC), took over various other CITs to extend their service area. In 1988, the took over CIT d'Iberville, in 1993 they were took over service in St-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, 1994 service began in the city of Marieville and finally in 2005 they took over service for CIT Rouville.
On January 1st, 1992 the contract was operated by Autobus Viens, a private operator based out of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richlieu, Québec. In 2004, Autobus Viens was purchased by Veolia Transportation who continued to operate the contract until 2012. In 2012, Veolia Transportation sold their assets to Transdev, who's subsidiary [[Transdev Québec]] continues to operate the service to this day.


In October 2012, the name changed to what is known as it is today, BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan.
In 1993, a contract was awarded to Transidev Inc. which later became Société Gestrans to manage the logistics of the service.
 
Over the years, BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan (at the time CIT Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan) took over smaller systems in the surrounding areas. On February 1st, 1988, they took over the services of CIT D'Iberville after Autobus Ménard halted the service when the municipalities failed to pay the outstanding bills. In 1993, they started providing service to the town of Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, Québec and in 1994 service commenced in the town of Marieville, Québec.
 
In 2005, BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan took over the remaining services in Marieville that were operated under the CIT Rouville banner.
 
In October 2012, the system went through a redesign of the network to make it more efficient. Along with the redesign came a new name and livery.

BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan provides public transportation services for the towns of Carignan, Chambly, Richelieu, St-Mathias and Marieville

History

BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan was formed in December of 1984, along with various other CIT Systems in order to have a focused local service. The service was formed under the name CIT Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan and contracted out to the Société de Transport du Rive-Sud de Montréal, who maintained the service until December of 1991.

On January 1st, 1992 the contract was operated by Autobus Viens, a private operator based out of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richlieu, Québec. In 2004, Autobus Viens was purchased by Veolia Transportation who continued to operate the contract until 2012. In 2012, Veolia Transportation sold their assets to Transdev, who's subsidiary Transdev Québec continues to operate the service to this day.

In 1993, a contract was awarded to Transidev Inc. which later became Société Gestrans to manage the logistics of the service.

Over the years, BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan (at the time CIT Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan) took over smaller systems in the surrounding areas. On February 1st, 1988, they took over the services of CIT D'Iberville after Autobus Ménard halted the service when the municipalities failed to pay the outstanding bills. In 1993, they started providing service to the town of Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, Québec and in 1994 service commenced in the town of Marieville, Québec.

In 2005, BLUS - Chambly-Richelieu-Carignan took over the remaining services in Marieville that were operated under the CIT Rouville banner.

In October 2012, the system went through a redesign of the network to make it more efficient. Along with the redesign came a new name and livery.
